All the color present in this painting comes from plants: onion skin, avocado skin, eucalyptus, pomegranate, and walnut. The fabric has been naturally dyed, sewn together, and mounted on birch panel. On each of the four squares is oil paint, also made from natural pigments in an attempt to replicate the fabrics’ colors. This painting investigates the range of cool colors achieved through natural dyes and pigments.
