All the color present in this painting comes from plants: onion skin, red cabbage, indigo, and weld. The fabric has been naturally dyed, sewn together, and mounted on birch panel. On each of the four squares is oil paint, also made from natural pigments in an attempt to replicate the fabric’s color. This painting investigates the range of cool colors achieved through natural dyes and pigments.
